Tiago Carrique (Santa cruz, 2020-04-18)

although there are rules that apply to social distancing, people should still be able to do what they love or even what can keep their mental health happy, whilst also applying to the social distancing rules !.jada enright (NSW , 2020-04-19)

Withdrawal of exercising and daily lifestyle is causing depression, which lowers the bodies immune system. Surfers are rarely if ever closer than 1.8 m apart.Christina Gioffre Gioffre (Playa Langosta, 2020-04-22)

I believe people should have the right to swinm and surf in the ocean. This activity does not pose any threat to peoples' health as long as people keep their distance from strangers in the water and on the beach. Surfing and swimming are good exercise and if the health authorities want people to stay healthy they should lift the ban on surfing and swimming and enjoying the ocean and beaches.Jill Ruttenberg (Turrubares, 2020-04-23)

If people can go to the gym and the cinema in other areas of Costa Rica, we should be allowed to surf. In Pavones we don’t have any other recreation, we are surfers who have lived here for 29 years. Social distancing is something we always practice surfing. Surfers usually sit at least 6 ft away from each other anyway. We’re not out there to visit, we’re out there to surf.Judi Hertzog (Pavones, 2020-04-28)

There is no scientific evidence to support that we should not be at the beach or in the ocean, in fact studies show that the ocean and sun are very helpful for our immune system.Robin Clements (Platanillo , 2020-05-07)

Far safer and cleaner than any gym or movie theater, the beach is where all people, rich and poor, Tico and foreign, can safely exercise and enjoy the outdoors with social distancing measures. We all need access to swimming, surfing and walking on the beach. Sitting or gathering on the sand, and parking as well as driving can still be restricted. Many smaller beach communities don't have other facilities or parks. Please consider opening the beach again for local residents around the country. Thank you!Zach Blumner (Dominical, 2020-05-08)

There are and many health benefits to keeping access to nature available within reason. No groups needed, very simple enforcement even community-driven monitoring using cell phones is an option. This is happening in Hawaii, South Korea, and even my friends in Nicaragua who have no regulations at all have yet to see or report any resluting health issues. Promoting healthy lives and saving a few more local families would be great. I am seeing many people really struggle here with affording food and basics, thank you for your concern and consideration, Pura Vida.David Jackson (Dominical, 2020-05-09)
